From vision to a market leader in open-source data analytics. Semantic Visions now acquired by Behind Investments

Semantic Visions was part of the Pale Fire Capital portfolio for more than a decade. At the time, large-scale semantic text analysis was still more of an emerging vision than an established business segment. Today, Semantic Visions is one of the leading providers of open-source data analytics, serving banks, investment firms, global manufacturers, media outlets, and multinational corporations, including SAP Ariba.

What started as a technological idea has grown into a successful product that analyzes over 2 million articles in 12 languages every day. Its proprietary platform helps clients detect risks, monitor market trends, and identify new business opportunities in real time.

“After several years of working closely with Jan Balatka and the Behind Investments team, we see that their deep expertise in artificial intelligence and technology gives Semantic Visions a tremendous opportunity for further growth. We believe this is the right moment to hand the company over to new leadership,” says Petr Krajíček, Partner at Pale Fire Capital and former CFO of Semantic Visions, who is also stepping down from his management role.

“Semantic Visions was the only company in our portfolio focused primarily on large enterprise clients – an area where both Diana Rádl Rogerová and Jan Balatka bring significant experience. For Pale Fire Capital, this exit is a logical step in executing our strategy: to concentrate on sectors where we have strong expertise and the ability to build globally competitive businesses. The latest developments at Groupon, Mubi (now the leader in e-insurance in Poland), the rapid growth of Rouvy, and the expansion of itrinity all confirm that this is the right direction for us,” adds David Holý, Partner at PFC.

Behind Investments had already entered Semantic Visions as a minority shareholder back in 2022
