Fraudulent advertisements, articles, videos and other online content have appeared on websites and social media, misusing the name of Pale Fire Capital as well as the names and likenesses of the group’s partners, particularly Dušan Šenkypl.
This fraudulent content is designed to create the false impression that Pale Fire Capital or its partners endorse a particular investment platform, application or other investment opportunity. Users are then redirected to fraudulent websites and encouraged to register, provide personal or contact information, or transfer money.
Pale Fire Capital, Dušan Šenkypl and the group’s other partners have no connection whatsoever with these advertisements, websites or investment offers. Please remain vigilant. We do not offer or recommend any investments online, and we strongly warn against any content suggesting otherwise.
Fraudsters may use photographs, fabricated interviews, false quotations, fake news articles, or video and audio materials manipulated using artificial intelligence.
How to Protect Yourself
- Do not click on suspicious advertising links or enter your personal, payment or login details on unfamiliar websites.
- Do not send money in response to an unsolicited investment offer, telephone call or social media message.
- Do not install remote-access software on your computer or phone at the request of an unknown person, and do not share your screen with them.
- Be cautious of offers promising exceptionally high or guaranteed returns, downplaying risks, or pressuring you to make an immediate decision.
- Carefully check the website address, the identity of its operator and the entity to which your money would actually be transferred.
What to Do if You Encounter Fraudulent Content
Do not share or forward a suspicious advertisement or post. Take a screenshot, save the website address and retain any contact details used by the fraudsters. Report the content to the relevant social media network or advertising platform.
If you have already provided your banking or login details, installed remote-access software or transferred money, contact your bank and the national Police immediately.
